(NEW YORK, NY) – Louisiana State University supplied five of the first round selections including the first overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals, QB Joe Burrow. There was no surprise with Burrow going No. 1 or QB Chase Young as the No.2 pick by Washington.

Jeff Okudah

That Detroit GM Bob Quinn couldn’t swing a deal with Miami (or anyone else) to increase the Lions take in the draft was the low point. Quinn recently traded away CB Darius Slay and the addition of Jeff Okudah arguably leaves the team in a deficit at the position.

There were no local prospects selected in the first round, however the New Jersey-born Michigan centre Cesar Ruiz was taken 24th overall by the New Orleans Saints.
